Negotiation of Open License for MATLAB Software for Member Institutions

GARNET is currently in discussions with MathWorks Inc., a leading provider of mathematical computing software, to negotiate an open license for its MATLAB software for our member institutions. MATLAB is a powerful programming and numerical computing platform widely used in Engineering, Science, and Business disciplines. However, due to its high cost, many students at our member institutions have been unable to access this essential tool for learning and research.

By leveraging the collective student population of GARNET member institutions, we aim to secure substantial discounts that will make MATLAB more affordable for our students and researchers. This initiative aligns with our commitment to empowering education and research through innovation and collaboration.
